DAY 1. MADRID - AVILÉS
Departure, on schedule time, by plane from Madrid to Asturias (flight included). Arrive in Avilés and accommodations at the hotel. The historic quarter has been declared Historic and Artistic Site in 1955. There, we will find civic and religious monuments. The streets Galiana, Rivero, San Francico and La Ferreria witnessed its history with magnificent buildings and galleries. Dinner at a typical restaurant "sidreria" selected by Gastronomic Tour Spain. Accommodations.
DAY 2. AVILÉS - MINING REGION - GIJÓN
Breakfast at the hotel. Asturias is historically a land of miners. We will take a short trip by train to a coal mine entrance, recalling its activitie on the 1960 decade. Guided walk through the experiences of former miner's. We will also visit the Museum of Mine. Lunch with cider and cheese tasting. After lunch, we will continue the trip going to Gijon. Gourmet dinner. Rest of the day is free.
Breakfast at the hotel. We will take a short trip by train to an old Mine entrance, recalling its activities on the 1960 decade. Guided walk through the experiences of former miner's. We will visit the Museum of Mine, where we'll learn about the history of mining in Asturias. Lunch with cider and cheese tasting. After lunch, we will continue the trip going to Gijon. Accommodation at the hotel. Rest of the afternoon is free.
DAY 3. GIJÓN - COLUNGA - LASTRES - GIJÓN
Breakfast at the hotel. Following the Cantabrian Coast, we will arrive in the small town of Colunga. We will visit a traditional "llagar" (where the cider is produced) and a "pumarada" (apple orchard), where we will experience the opportunity to have a cider degustation in its natural surroundings. Next, we will be going to the fishing village of Lastres and take a walk to visit different views of Bay of Biscay. Its natural landscapes were used as scenery for Spanish television series like Doctor Mateo. Lunch at a restaurant selected by Gastronomic Tour Spain. In the afternoon hours, we will return to Gijón and spend the night. Rest of the evening is free in Gijón.
DAY 4. GIJÓN - OVIEDO
Breakfast at the hotel. We will visit on foot the historic quarter of Gijon and will see the cultural and architectural center Ciudad de la Cultura, built during General Francisco Franco's era. Departure to Oviedo, where we will visit pre-Romanesque monuments: Santa Maria de Naranco Cathedral and San Miguel Lillo - declared by UNESCO Heritage Site. Rest of the day is free in Oviedo.
DAY 5. OVIEDO
Breakfast at the hotel. We will head out on foot to visit the beauttiful historic quarter of the city. Free time to discover the elegant Oviedo. Goumet dinner at a restaurant selected by Gastronomic Spain Tour.
DAY 6. OVIEDO - MADRID
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Oviedo's airport and flight to Madrid. End of our services.
