Day 1. Tarragona – Falset
Departure on time from the agreed meeting site to Montsant. Accommodations at a hotel selected by Gastronomic Tour Spain. We will start our beautiful itinerary visiting Falset, a small town that preserves traces of the greatness of its past and is the certer of a important winegrowing region, where also is located a enology school. Falset has a beautiful square with arcades, the Quartera, surrounded by a Renaissance-style Palace of the Counts of Prades. We will stroll around the streets, old plazas and the Jewish quarter or "Call". The Priorat has always produced good wines, but it was after the 70s that the region made significant changes to achieve a product with international quality. The peculiar soil and the dry climate provide the ideal conditions to grow excellent grapes and, therefore, high quality wine. In the evening, a gourmet dinner selected by Gastronomic Tour Spain. Day 2. Wine Growing Region of Priorat – Montsant
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure toward the mining complex of Bellmunt del Priorat to see the Eugenia mine, which has a total of 20 underground floors, with the possibility of visiting it partially. A guided tour may allow us to travel up to 700m below the surface. We'll continue ou itinerary until Gratallops and visit a winery - where we will have a wine tasting to appreciate its peculiarities. Lunch at selected restaurant. After lunch, a visit to Vilella Baixa, considered the "New York" of the Priorat because of the construction of its buildings. We will continue our trip toward Morera Montsant, a medieval village where we will be able to admire its beautiful Romantic church and the captivating view, where it's common to observe the region betwenn clouds wih shades of blue and pink. Return to the hotel. Gourmet dinner. Accommodations.
Day 3. Wine Growing Region of Priorat – Montsant – Falset
Breakfast at the hotel. We will be leaving to visit Scala Dei, the must see monument of the region was founded in the 12th century by the king Alfonso, called "the Chaste", and was the first one on the Iberian Peninsula. Right away we will be heading out to the city of Siurana, a small village with beautiful houses and streets made of rocks and stones. We will see the fortress ruins at the entrance of the city and the swamp - aunique beauty. Our next stop will be at the Capçanes co-operative, where we will see how is produced the Kosher wine used for the Shabbat and other Jewish hollidays. Lunch at restaurant selected by Gastronomic Tour Spain. In the afternoon, we'll visit a olive oil co-operative, where will be offered a degustation of flavors. Return to the hotel. Gourmet dinner.
Day 4. Falset – Tarragona
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Tarragona. Optional visit to the city. End of our services.
